RELIEF

   The mountains takes around the 80% of the land, and the medium height is 440 meters over the sea level. From the north  to the South Korean Sea, there's more than 100 mountains with a height bigger than 2.000 meters.

    The highest mountain in Korea is the Bektu-san (2.750 meters) that is located in the northern border. In the top of the mountain (a volcanic cone that was formed around one million of years ago) you can find the lake Chon.

    The plains take a very little proportion of land. Most of them have around 100 meters over the sea level. There's plains specially in the western and meridian zones. In the eastern zone is possible to find little plains in the low flow of the rivers.

    SEA

   Korea is a country that looks at the sea, the East Sea, the West sea and the South korean sea are linked with the Pacific Ocean.

    The 37% of the continental platform has more than 1.000 meters of depth. The middle depth is of 1.668,2 meters in the East sea, 39,3 meters in the West sea and 442 meters in the South sea. In the East sea is the deepest one with 3.699 meters.

    There's more than 353 species of fish because the crossing of the equatorial warm running and the cold running from the north.

    In the West sea of Korea there's a big marsh of more than 700.000 hectares which is a big source of minerals and salt.
