Today, the country's economy provides everything for the socialist construction and the people's life, and this economy is in constant development and is never influenced by the fluctuation of the world's economy'
Until the 40's, the Korean economy was strongly undeveloped due to the colonialist domination from the imperialist Japan.
Japan took all the valuable resources from the country and stopped the progress of the national's economy. Although they constructed some industries to prepare the invasion of whole Asia, most of those industries can only extract raw materials, but they didn't have processing and technical factories that are the base of the independent's economy. Because this factor, the economy remained undeveloped during a long time, and during the war of three years against the American imperialists, this little industry was completely destroyed and the country was only a sea of ashes.
But under the saviour guidance of the Great Leader Kim Il Sung, the D.P.R.K. was born like a great paradise of the socialism thanks to the great courage and power of all the workers.
In 1979, the industrial production of the country was increased 263,9 times if compared with 1946, and during the industrialization period (1957-1970), the industrial production raised in a year's average of 19,1%. Since 1979 onwards, the production is increasing a minimum of 15,9% per year.
The main duty of the construction of the socialist's economy is to increase the life's level and culture of the people. Reaching the highest technology will help to achieve these goals, and the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il gave instructions and directions about how to get it.
